71.18.1 Check Ingested Assets

Etere strongly suggest checking ingested assets to prevent incongruences on media files linked to assets, whether ingested using Etere Ingest, manually linked using Media Library or automatically detected using Etere ActiveSync. Once ingested, it could happen that media files linked to assets could present some incongruences which may affect their broadcast.

For instance, media files not meeting the restriction on filenames length may result in a playback error due to a video server unable to find media files which filenames are longer than the maximum allowed limit (i.e. 20 characters in case Etere Automation is installed and 32 characters without Etere Automation installed, with maximum of 250 characters). In this particular case, the restriction on filenames length is automatically checked in the following modules:

•Easy Ingest (at the preview),
•Multifunction Ingest (at the preview),
•Quality Check (at the preview),
•Scheduled Video File Check (at the checking).
