Here's a quick walkthrough on how to import an Active Directory Organization into Etere Rights Structure:
1. Open the Active Directory Integration tool; its main window will be displayed,
2. Click on the [Scan and import AD groups] button to open the AD Groups Selection window,
3. Click on the [Scan AD structure] button to retrieve all forests and groups available,
4. Select the groups to be imported and press the [ConfEdit_Rights_AD_01_i01 Sync Etere with AD changes] button,
5. Back in the main window, click on the [Sync Etere with AD changes] to map the selected groups into the Etere's rights structure,
6. Click the [Save groups and users] button to let changes take effect.
7. Now, you can start granting/denying rights to the groups selected from your organization.
NB: From Etere released version 29.2 onwards, the LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) protocol has been enhanced to increase the limitation of 1000 to a higher figure to allow access to all the distributed directories after import. Nevertheless, the customer is advised to visit Microsoft websites for reference before making changes to the Active Directory structure.
Note: The active directory integration must be enabled in old installations (before Etere 24)
In the new installations, the feature is enabled by default.
