The information displayed in the first part is merely descriptive and shows previously assigned data:
•Code: The path of the resource that you are editing is displayed
•Type: Shows the resource type
•Number: Indicates the ordinal number that identifies that resource in case others of the same type coexist.
The user must enter the following information:
•Name: description of the resource you are editing.
•Driver: choose between drivers that use the serial port: OXTELIS2, OXTELIS2L and PM100
OXTELIS2L allows one to manage two layers; on the resource tree, two layers will be created, which must then be activated for users who plan to use them.
Note: In case of enabling the "Do not use Shared MC driver" parameter, the automation will not use the Shared MC driver, thus allowing, for instance, a 3rd layer.
PM100 - Allows one to manage four layers; on the resource tree, four layers will be created, which must then be activated for users who plan to use them. This drive should be used if the logo is a part of MC Presmaster.
✓drivers that used the communication via IP standard: OXTELIS2IP, OXTELIS2LIP, OXTELIS3LIP
✓drivers that used the communication via IP Network Automation: OXTELIS2IPNA, OXTELIS2LIPNA, OXTELIS3LIPNA
•Model: to use the Imagestore IS1, it is necessary to set it as Model IMAGESTORE IS1; for the other models, there is no need.
NB: The Network Automation protocol is a simplified version of the standard Oxtel protocol that doesn't require the headers of the commands and the checksums and doesn't give back acknowledge (supported on the 5007 port of the image store HDTV, IS 300, Intuition)
If one uses the protocols via IP, it is necessary also to set the following data:
•IP Address: Indicate the IP address of the machine (e.g..: 195.120.154.12)
•Local Port: Indicate the Local Port of the machine (default=5006 for the standard protocol; default=5007 for the Network Automation protocol)
•Configuration:
✓ The logo generator is configured as Indicated by how you want the logo configured.
✓Indicate the associated DSK: Indicate if the DSK is internal (INSIDE) or if one of those in the resources (previously configured) must be associated.
(Warning: you need to configure DSKs first because only installed DSKs are displayed)
•Preset/Take Mode: Some devices can pre-load the logo before sending it ON AIR in such a way as to speed up the operation at the moment of the take. This possibility can be exploited using preset/take mode instead of standard mode. The preset/take mode is suggested only if a commutation is used for each event. Otherwise, the results could be unpredictable.
Serial connection wire:
For Grass ValleyImagestore 300, use the following connection tables:
Oxtel RCP Control Panel Serial Interface: The "Oxtel RCP", D-type, 9-way connection connects Grass Valley.
Technologies Ltd remote control panel Oxtel RCP and the pin format are shown in the following table.
Pin Oxtel RCP
1 GND
2 Data A -
3 Data B +
4 0V out
5 GND
6 GND
7 Data A +
8 Data B -
9 +12V Output
RS232: These ports conform to the normal convention for standard PC serial, D-type, 9-pin, port, and the pin format shown in the following table. They MUST be connected using cable assembly 02494.
Pin RS232 / Serial Loop
2 Rx
3 Tx
5 GND
1, 4, 6 - 9 Not Used
RS422: Serial automation can be achieved using the RS422 serial interface. This port conforms to the pin format shown in the following table.
Pin RS422
1 Tx -
2 Tx +
3 Rx +
4 Rx -
5 GND
6- 9 Not Used
For older versions of Grass Valley Imagestore, you can use the following tables:
RS232:
PC Side Logo Side
(DB9F) (DB9F)
2 Rx --------------------- Tx 3
3 Tx ---------------------- Rx 2
5 GND ------------------ GND 5
RS4222:

(DB9M) (DB9F)
1 GND ------------------- GND 6
2 Rx- --------------------- Tx- 1
3 Tx+ --------------------- Rx+ 3
7 Rx+ ---------------------Tx+ 2
8 Tx- ----------------------Rx- 4
ImageStore resource editor - User
Com port setting: The VTR can be controlled directly through a serial connection (in this case, you have to set the com number) or through UDP with the ETERESARVAJI software (in this case, you have to indicate the IP address of the PC that EtereSarvaji runs on and the Local Port EtereSarvaji which uses.
Com configuration: The com is configured with the following default values (only Bauds can be changed):
✓Baud: 19200
✓Parity: None
✓Stop bits: 1
✓Data bits: 8
422
✓Device (out)- Indicate the no. of the device to be installed when you open the resource.(-1=not installed)
✓Controller (in)- Indicate the no. of the controller to be installed when you open the resource.(-1=not installed)
(Only in the special case where you have a centralized video router which allows you also to commute serial ports, set the data referred to above to 422)
