Facial Recognition (face detection) is an artificial intelligence technique used in biometrics to identify or verify a person's identity from one or more images that portray them.

What Etere Face Recognition is
Etere Face Recognition is an Etere workflow action used to detect faces and facial features, to recognize gender, age and facial expressions (if a smile is present and if the eyes are open or closed) in the Media Library video files.
It uses pictures of people in the Artist Manager to get face templates, then these templates will be used to recognize faces in the Media Library video files.
Every segment of the video where an Artist is detected, will be a segment in the EDL of the media asset, having some metadata such as the Artist detected and its facial features and expressions.
Face Recognition action uses multiple processor cores to speed up recognition.
