70.5.1 What is HSM Disaster Recovery

The HSM Disaster Recovery application is an utility developed by Etere to allow users to easily and quickly restore any content archived by Etere HSM into a LTO tape. The intuitive graphical interface of this utility allows users to browse and select content files to be restored into a selected directory with just few clicks:

Etere HSM is a solution designed for emergency cases on which restoring a tape content into a specific path is needed in few seconds; this utility provides the following key features:
✓Standalone functioning that doesn't require Etere HSM to be installed
✓User-friendly interface to easily navigate into a tape and select contents
✓Multi-selection capability to restore multiple contents at once
✓Any content can be restored, no matter its file format
✓Windows based interface to use any windows compatible tape drive
✓Multiple tape drives can be managed by switching between them
✓Direct connection with tape drives, no intermediate is required to access archived content
Note
HSM Disaster Recovery is not part of Etere HSM suite, therefore, content restored using this utility won't be tracked nor managed into the Etere system.
