The Scheduled Ingest module allows the planning of multiple ingest operations to be automatically performed for a certain duration at a specific time or a GPI signal, all without any manual interventions.
By pre-configuring the resources to be used, it will be possible to schedule multiple ingest operations to take place through various channels, thus reducing the need for constant operator involvement.
Note: When configuring resources for multiple ingest operations, selecting the same resource already configured in another ingest channel is not allowed.
The Scheduled Ingest module counts with three main functions for automating the ingest process; these functions and their particular uses are listed below and explained in this chapter:
• Single ingest: An individual ingest operation planned for a certain day at a certain time (e.g. Thursday 11/06/2009 at 18:00).
• Periodical ingest: Various ingest operations to be carried out periodically (e.g., every day at 02.30).
• Scheduled-live ingest: An ingest operation for a "live" event (e.g. sports match) scheduled in the broadcast schedule (e.g. live events of all Mondays of a month).
Note: In case another instance of "Scheduled Ingest" is running on the same computer, a warning will be displayed to make the user aware.
