59.6.2.18 Sony - LMS resource editor

The information displayed in the first part is merely descriptive and shows previously assigned data:
•Code: the path of the resource that you are editing is displayed
•Type: shows the resource type
•Number: indicates the ordinal number that identifies that resource in case others of the same type coexist.
The user must enter the following information:
•Name: description of the resource you are editing.
•Driver: fixed for the machine type: LMS
•GPI Input: specify both the GPI of the INGEST PC's Input card to detect the LMS start and whether the signal is positive or negative (default value: positive).

Serial connection wire:

The Sony Flexicart communicates via a standard RS422 interface using a standard cable.  The cable is a DB9 (male) to DB9 (male); all connections are pin-to-pin.
DB9 (male) Communication     -     DB9 (male) Flexicart
TX + 8                                             8 RX+
TX – 3                                             3 RX-
RX + 2                                            2 TX+
RX - 7                                              7 TX-
NB.
The output Gpi the LMS uses to indicate that the tape start point has been reached is fixed to 1; in the db 37 (LMS side), this corresponds to pins 22 and 18.
(LMS is an open collector, and the GPI card is in the 'fed' configuration)
