Etere Multichannel Ingest

77.1 Client Interface

When launching Multichannel Ingest, user can define up to 8 channel input for the recordings. This form will appear the first time the Multichannel Ingest is launched:

multiingest_main

From the Set service menu, the user will have listed all the available services configured on the network and will be able to link each service to a specific form of the module.

These channel services are configured through the Ingest section on User Preferences of Etereweb. See chapter 18.4.3.0 Ingest for more info about it.

Each time a service is linked to one of the 8 available forms, a restart is requested with the message:
"
To apply the changes you need to restart the application. Restart now?"
If the user confirms, the application will restart automatically for the same station.
Otherwise, the service will be linked but it will became actually usable only after a restart. This allows to link more than 1 service to the forms, restarting only once.

Each time a service is unlinked, the client application behaves in the same way, but it asks first for user confirmation to unlink the service.

It's also possible to restart manually Etere Multichannel Ingest Client, selecting the Restart function in File menu.

In case the selected service is alredy linked to a form, the module will prompt the message "Service already used" and will be necessary to unlink it first.
Each service can be used for one recording at a time, so, if selected for more than one form (on different workstations) or for scheduled ingest, once launched for a recording on one of those clients, the service will be shown in running status and the recording will be prevented.

The following Multichannel Ingest interface illustrates relative service flow during the ingest operations.
Note: When connecting to a Multichannel Client Server, a timeout of 2 seconds is imposed if there is no response from the Server.

Etere Multichannel Ingest 2

•Point #1: It indicates the channel used for Scheduled Ingest, e.g., channel 11.

•Point #2: Channel 0 (zero) indicates Ingest does not use the channel.

•Point #3: The dedicated ”eRunning - scheduled” indicates a Scheduled ingest status and running counter of ingesting.

•Point #4: The dedicated ”eRunning” recording status indicates a manual ingest in progress with the running counter.

•Point #5: It indicates the remaining time when the next scheduled ingest would be triggered in the respective channel.

•Point #6: You can enable/disable the audio and video features during Preview.

•Point #7: Select the audio tracks to record during ingest. Only audio tracks with a tick (√ ) in the check box would be recorded.

In the GUI, if you set the value in Type, Codec, and Cloud-device parameters for each ingest window and click the <Create> button, the set value in these three parameters would be saved and set as default when the Multichannel channel is relaunched.

In multiple ingest operations, you can set the different cloud-device paths for each ingest session in the Cloud-device parameter, so long as the cloud device is mapped and reachable.

The ingest journal (Start / End) and processing details in the ingest workstation would be recorded in the Log table in the SQL database for each ingest operation.

Note: In Point # 3, the ingest Broker for Multichannel Ingest and Scheduled Ingest can be used simultaneously. The Scheduled Ingest broker used is visible in Multichannel Ingest, but not vice versa.
