This chapter explains how to perform the most common tasks related to the management of tapes:
How would you like to create a new rack manually? Racks are managed from the Racks module, from where it will be possible to create new racks and to view all existing ones.
How do you assign a tape to a rack?
To assign a type to a rack, just open either the Tape Library or the Racks module and set the rack on which the tape is located.
How do you set the recording information of tapes?
This task can be easily performed using the Tape Manager module by searching for the asset and setting all the data required for its recording.
How do you think the assets are stored on tape?
Assets linked to a tape (on which they are stored) can be easily consulted under the Tape Library and the Tape Loading modules.
How do you view the loan information of a certain tape?
All loan information related to tapes (e.g. loan data, return data) can be managed under the Tape Loan module through standard and quick functions.
How do you set a certain "data" tape as read-only? Search and open the data tape on the Tape Library, then, under the "Tape information" tab, tick-off its "read-only" parameter.
