72.2.2.53 Secondary events - Devices

The Devices tab displays all the automation resources, allowing to configure their default functioning for each individual asset.

CG Crawl
The Crawl/CG section permits using characters configured in CG/Crawl (Etere configuration > Settings > Basic > CG/Crawl). 'Activate' must be ticked for the character generator to work:

Text - Enter the text that will be viewed across the event.
Logo - Specify the logo number.
CG template - Specify the template.
Logo effect - Select the type of effect the text should have (fixed, variable, crawl or script). Please note that only those effects supported by the current device will be listed (they are retrieved from the auremote.ini file).
As precaution measure, when graphics file with text is put on-air you can set this option to Off to prevent wrong text displayed on-air if the graphics text is changing from time to time.
Repeat no. - Specify the number of repetitions of the logo.
Repeat rate - Specify how many times the logo should repeat, that is, the repeating frequency.
Start and duration - Specify the start time (time from the start of the event, if left at 0 the title/crawl will be enabled as soon as the event starts) and the duration of the crawl/title.  To set it to run until the end of the event click on the button next to the Duration field.
Commercials - If the title/crawl is a commercial item, the commercial flag must be activated so that it is calculated in the commercial crowding figures.
NB: Please note that in order to be displayed here, CG Crawls must be created as resources (configured as "Crawl") assigned to the automation function, this, under the Resources module.

Logo
The Logo section allows using logos configured in logo generators (Etere configuration > Settings > Basic > Logo Generator n).
It will be possible to use up to 3 logos (sequentially one after the other) for each Logo Generator. For the first 2 logos the duration needs to be set and for the third logo the duration will automatically be calculated. The first logo starts at the beginning of the event and remains active for the duration set.  After which the second logo will be activated for the expected duration and finally the third logo starts and will last until the end of the event.  If you don't want to use a logo, set 0 as the logo number.
Here are some examples of how to configure logos in various situations:

1. Logo required for full duration of event: leave logo N1 and logo N2 with durations of 0 and set logo N3 as the logo to be visualized. This way logo N3 will be enabled for the entire duration of the event.

2. Logo to change 20 seconds from start of event: keep the duration of logo N1 to 0, enter the default logo with a 20 second duration in logo N2 and enter the new (2nd to appear) logo in logo N3. The duration of the latter will automatically be calculated and as such will run to the end of the event.

3. Commercial event with a logo saying "Commercial" to appear 3 seconds after the start lasting for 5 seconds: set the default logo of the broadcasting station as logo N1 with a duration of 3 seconds. Enter the 'commercial' logo in logo N2 with a duration of 5 seconds and enter the default logo (same as logo N1) in logo N3. The duration of the latter will automatically be calculated and as such will run to the end of the event.
It's worth mentioning that, for each Logo Generator, the sum of the durations of its used logos must be less or equal than the total duration of the asset, otherwise, a warning will be displayed to alert the operator.

Moreover, you can change the logo for a specific event in two ways:

1. In Etere Configuration> Settings> Executive Editor > Schedule Parameters> Secondary Events as a default, disable the “Insert secondary events in any EE publication” option and create a default asset for the event type and select the correct logo for the asset template.

2. Use the method described in Parental Guidance to define a rating and assign a logo to the new rating.

NB: Please note that in order to be displayed here, Logo layer must be created as resources (and configured as "Logo n") assigned to the automation function, this, under the Resources module. Moreover, the first Logo layer will be named "STMAN".

Router / Master Control
Select and set the transition type (cut, v-fade, etc) to be used between events, being also possible to lock the transition. Please refer to the Router/MC chapter for detailed information on this topic.
NB: Please note that in order to be displayed here, Routers must be created as resources assigned to the automation function, this, under the Resources module.

GPI
Set here the automation commands to be launched during the playback of the asset form each time a certain GPI signal is received. Please refer to the GPI chapter for detailed information on this topic.
NB: Please note that in order to be displayed here, GPI boards must be created as resources assigned to the automation function, this, under the Resources module.
