18.4.6.6 EmBER+ gpio

Ember+ is a control protocol defined by the Lawo Group, allowing communication between two endpoints: a data provider (typically a device exposing a set of controllable parameters) and a consumer (typically a monitoring system).

The EMBER protocol is a sophisticated data exchange mechanism that has potential for controlling many functions across varied equipment types.
An EMBER controller connected to a piece of equipment that supports the protocol can display the properties of, and allow changes to all of the control parameters the equipment gives access to, without the controller needing prior knowledge of how the system operates or its configuration.
EMBER controller GUI’s can be customized to meet users needs, selecting the required controls, displaying and labelling them to make a user friendly layout.
Etere’s implementation of EMBER has so far been to meet our customer’s specific needs and in Radiolive Engine Service it can be configured with the following parameters:

ember_gpio

Use EmBER+: Activate this flag to enable the parameters below and use Ember+ protocol.

IP address and port: Type the IP address and communication port of the EmBER+ device.

Pulse time msec.: Time interval when the GPI receives the signal.

Ch-A/Ch-B

EGPI Fader start: GPI signal (input) given to mixer input, which turns on and increases the fader cursor.

EGPI Fader stop: GPI signal (input) given to mixer input, which turns off and decreases the fader cursor.

EGPO Fader start: GPI signal (output) sent by pressing mixer button to Radio Engine, which skips the event currently in play and goes to the next event ready to A/B channel.

EGPO Fader stop: GPI signal (output) sent by pressing mixer button to Radio Engine which pauses the channel currently in play.

EGPO Event Recue: GPI signal (output) sent by pressing the mixer button to Radio Engine service, which start the playing event from the beginning, regardless of the channel (A or B).
