Etere Multi-Channel Ingest - Server and Client - ETX based

97.10 How to use a Client for Planning LIVE Recordings

The Etere Scheduled Ingest module also supports periodical recordings, allowing automatic and recurring ingest operations based on predefined schedules.

This functionality is particularly useful for repetitive content acquisition, such as daily broadcasts or weekly programs, ensuring consistency without manual intervention.

Creating a New Periodical Recording

The New Periodical Recording function allows you to configure an ingest operation that is automatically repeated over time according to defined scheduling rules.

General Parameters

  • Code
This field is automatically managed by the system and displayed as “0” during configuration.
A valid code is assigned automatically when the configuration is saved.
  • Description
A short label used to identify the scheduled ingest operation.
  • Linked Asset
Defines the asset associated with the ingest:
    • Select an existing asset from the database
    • Or create a new asset and assign it directly

Ingest Start Configuration

Defines the base timing applied to each occurrence of the recording:

  • Date
Specifies the initial date when the schedule becomes active
  • Time
Defines the start time of each recording instance
  • Duration
Specifies the duration of each ingest session

Destination

  • Channel
Identifies the ingest channel (service) responsible for executing the recording

Periodical Repetition

This section defines how the ingest is repeated:

  • Date From – Date To
Defines the time interval during which the recurring schedule is valid
  • Days of the Week
Select one or more days when the ingest must be executed

The system will repeat the ingest weekly on the selected days within the defined date range.

Source Configuration

  • Router Resource
Defines the routing resource used for the input signal
  • Input Channel (Main)
Specifies the input channel used for the ingest

Start and Stop Conditions

The ingest operation can be controlled using either time-based or external triggers:

  • Start
    • At a fixed scheduled time
    • Via external GPI signal
  • Stop
    • At a fixed scheduled time
    • Via external GPI signal

Saving the Configuration

After completing the configuration:

  • Click the <Save> button
  • A confirmation message will indicate that the schedule has been successfully stored

Managing Periodical Ingests

Configured periodical ingest operations are available in the main Scheduled Ingest interface under:

Planned Periodical Ingests

From this section, it is possible to:

  • View all configured recurring ingest operations
  • Edit existing schedules
  • Monitor upcoming and active recordings

Summary

The Periodical Recording feature enables automated recurring ingest operations based on defined schedules and repetition rules. By combining time configuration, channel assignment, and source definition, it provides a reliable solution for managing repetitive ingest workflows efficiently.
