Etere Multi-Channel Ingest - Server and Client - ETX based

97.8 How to use a Client for Single Recordings

The Etere Scheduled Ingest module allows users to plan and automate ingest operations to be executed at specific dates and times. These operations can be scheduled on a dedicated channel or across multiple channels, eliminating the need for manual intervention.

All scheduled ingest activities can be monitored, edited, and reviewed directly from the Etere Web interface, including operations created both via Web and external Scheduled Ingest applications.

There is a control in the user code selected, so the system shows you only the channel can be used by the channel selected based on Scheduled recordingds parameters.

Overview

Scheduled Ingest provides the ability to:

  • Plan automatic recordings at predefined dates and times
  • Associate ingest operations with existing or new assets
  • Define input sources, channels, and recording parameters
  • Monitor completed and planned ingest operations

Creating a New Single Recording

The New Single Recording function allows the configuration of a single scheduled ingest operation.

General Parameters

  • Status
Non-editable field indicating the current state of the scheduled operation
  • Type
Non-editable field automatically set as ingest
  • Code
Automatically generated identifier for the ingest operation
  • Description
Short text used to identify the scheduled ingest
  • Linked Asset
Associates the ingest operation with an asset:
    • Select an existing asset using the browse function
    • Or create a new asset directly and link it
  • REC with TCIN
Enables recording with the start timecode from the source signal

Ingest Start Configuration

Defines when the ingest operation will begin:

  • Date
    Specifies the scheduled recording date
  • Time
    Specifies the start time
(A shortcut allows inserting the current system time)
  • Duration
Defines how long the ingest will run

Destination Settings

  • Channel
Defines the ingest channel (service) that will execute the recording

Source Configuration

  • Router Resource
Specifies the routing resource used for the ingest signal
  • Input Channel
Defines the physical or logical input used for the recording

Start / Stop Conditions

The ingest operation can be controlled in two different ways:

  • Start Options
    • Fixed scheduled time
    • External trigger via GPI signal
  • Stop Options
    • Fixed scheduled time
    • External trigger via GPI signal

This allows flexibility for both time-based and event-based ingest workflows.

Saving the Configuration

After completing all parameters:

  • Click the <Save> button
  • A confirmation message will appear if the operation is successfully saved

Managing Scheduled Ingests

Once saved, the scheduled operation will be visible in the main Scheduled Ingest page under:

Planned Single Ingest

From this section, users can:

  • View all scheduled ingest operations
  • Edit an existing operation by clicking the edit icon or the scheduled date
  • Open the linked asset by clicking on its Code (opens in a new tab)

To STOP or EXTEND a running scheduled operation you can do it by reducing\increasing its duration via the web interface.

For example, if the duration set for the scheduled recording is 4 hours and you wish to stop it after 2 hours, you can access the web interface and change the duration by entering a value lower than the one currently rec duration, then save the changes. Once you have done this, the recording will stop automatically. VIceversa to extend the duration, you simple increase the value from 4h to 6h for example.

Summary

The Scheduled Ingest – Single Recording feature enables precise planning of ingest operations by defining timing, source, destination, and asset association. Managed entirely via the Etere Web interface, it provides a flexible and reliable way to automate recording workflows while maintaining full control and visibility over all scheduled activities.
