The following are essential terms and disclaimers to remember before and during the installation of Etere software.
Before users start using any of Etere's software, they must read this page's disclaimers. To provide accurate, up-to-date, and reliable information about the correct use of its products, changes and updates may be implemented to this page at Etere's sole discretion.
Contents of the User Guide
Etere strives to maintain the accuracy of the contents of this user guide. However, Etere cannot be held responsible for this publication's possible inaccuracies and typographical errors. Etere reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to correct any errors or omissions in any portion of the document.
Etere makes this user guide available to its users on the following terms:
● The user has to exercise discretion and care in applying the information in this guide.
● The system has to be deployed following the requisites listed in the Etere Requirements section in the Etere Installation Guide chapter.
Upgrade of Etere modules
Upgrading an Etere system is a very sensitive process that requires prior consultation with Etere's customer support service> Customer support will provide customers with all the proper guidelines to perform this task with as much knowledge and accuracy as possible.
When a customer needs to upgrade Etere, it is suggested to start by reading the step-by-step guidelines described in the Upgrading your Etere System section of the Etere Installation Guide chapter.
Use of antivirus software
Etere strongly suggests disabling antivirus software on Playout and Ingest stations to avoid video freezing problems, except on dedicated border computers, such as a Tapeless Reception clean install.
The customer's antivirus may interfere with real-time and near-real-time operations performed by Etere System, which might cause delays and unexpected software behaviour. If a customer decides to use an antivirus during the operations, this will be done at their discretion. Etere can not be held liable if the system crashes or delays occur during deployment. To bypass the use of antivirus software, Etere suggests accurate network planning to avoid unexpected software running on the network.
To know more about the security guidelines for the design of an Etere network, see the Network Security Policies section of the Etere Installation Guide chapter.
