The Replace Video function allows operators to replace an existing section of the delayed content with a selected video clip.
This operation is useful when a portion of the broadcast material must be removed and replaced with alternative content while maintaining control of the on-air timeline.
To replace a video segment:
1. Position the Editor at the point where the replacement should begin.
2. Set the required Mark In position.
3. Select the replacement clip from the Library.
4. Execute the Replace Video command.
The selected clip is inserted starting from the Mark In position, replacing the existing content from that point onward.
After the operation is completed, a marker is automatically added to the Timeline, allowing operators to identify and review the performed edit.
Timeline Adjustment
When replacing content, the timeline is automatically recalculated according to the duration difference between the replacement clip and the removed section.
The adjustment is calculated as:
Replacement Clip Duration - Removed Content Duration
Examples:
• If the replacement clip duration is 10 seconds and the removed content duration is 7 seconds, the timeline increases by 3 seconds.
• If the replacement clip duration is 10 seconds and the removed content duration is 12 seconds, the timeline decreases by 2 seconds.
This automatic adjustment ensures that the delayed buffer remains synchronized after each editing operation.
