The View Historic File function allows operators to access and preview previously recorded content from the historical media archive.
This feature is useful when reviewing past events, retrieving content for analysis, or performing additional operations on media that is no longer available in the active delay buffer.
Historical files are managed by the CENSOR EX system and are available from both online and offline storage:
• Online storage: Provides access to recent historical content.
• Offline storage: Provides access to older recorded content retained according to the system configuration.
Opening the Historic Preview Window
To access historical content:
1. Open the Action panel.
2. Click the Historic button.
3. The Historic Preview window is displayed.
Loading a Historic File
To preview a historical recording:
1. Select the required point in time from the timeline by moving the green selection bar.
2. Click Load to retrieve the available historical files for the selected period.
3. Select the desired file from the loaded results.
4. Click Playto preview the content.
The loaded file is displayed with a timecode starting from: 00:00:00:00
Note → If the loading process exceeds the configured timeout period, the system displays a timeout notification.
Historic Management Functions
The Historic Preview window provides additional functions for managing historical content.
Get Timeline
The Get Timeline function retrieves historical files available from the configured storage locations.
It allows operators to search and access previously recorded content according to the selected time range.
Check for GTS Files
The Check for GTS Files function verifies the availability and integrity of historical files.
Files with recording errors or missing content are identified and displayed separately for troubleshooting purposes.
Folder Logs
The Folder Logs function displays the location where system log files are stored.
Logs can be useful for troubleshooting and system analysis. When an issue occurs, it is recommended to save the relevant log files before restarting the CENSOR EX application to preserve the information required for investigation.
Export Historic File
Historical content can be exported to external storage for further usage or analysis.
To export a historical file:
1. Select the desired historical file.
2. Click the folder selection button and choose the destination path.
3. Select the required export codec.
4. Click Export Clip to start the export process.
The exported media can then be used outside the CENSOR EX environment according to operational requirements.
