Time Delay Configuration
The time delay used by CENSOR EX is managed by the Live Censorship Service and defines the amount of time available for operators to review and edit content before it is transmitted on-air.
By default, the system is configured with a 10-minute delay. However, this value can be adjusted according to operational requirements.
Configuring the Time Delay
The time delay is configured through Etere Web as part of the Live Censorship Service configuration.
The delay is controlled by the Offset parameter, which specifies the time difference between the incoming live signal and the content made available to the CENSOR EX desktop application.
For example:
• Offset = 600000 ms corresponds to a 10-minute delay.
• Larger values provide operators with more time to perform censorship operations before transmission.
After saving the configuration in Etere Web, the updated parameters are automatically applied to the Live Censorship Service.
Buffer Configuration
The Live Censorship Service also provides additional parameters that determine how the delayed media is managed:
• Buffer Duration: Defines the maximum size of the available delay buffer.
• History Duration: Defines how much recorded content remains available for navigation and editing.
• File Duration: Defines the duration of each media file generated by the Time Delay Service.
These parameters should be configured according to the operational workflow and the available system resources.
Note → Modifying the time delay affects the entire censorship workflow. The configured delay must be sufficient to allow operators to review the incoming content and complete any required editing operations before the material reaches the on-air output.
