The Hide Effects function allows operators to apply visual masking effects to selected video areas during live censorship operations.
The Hide Effects menu is available in the bottom-right section of the CENSOR EX user interface and provides quick access to all available masking options.
Applying a Hide Effect
To apply a hide effect:
1. Open the Hide Effects menu.
2. Select the required effect:
• Mosaic
• Blur
• Plain Blue
• Plain Yellow
3. Select the area mode:
• Full Screen
• Partial Screen
Full Screen Mode
When Full Screen is selected, the hide effect is applied to the entire video frame.
In this mode, it is not necessary to define a specific area on the screen. The operator only needs to set the required Mark In and Mark Out points to define the duration of the effect.
Partial Screen Mode
When Partial Screen is selected, the operator can define a specific area of the video to be hidden.
The available shapes are:
• Square
• Circle
To configure a partial hide effect:
1. Select Mark In and click on the required area of the video using the left mouse button.
2. Select Mark Out and click on the required area of the video using the left mouse button.
3. Click Hide to apply the effect.
The selected area and effect are then applied to the defined portion of the video.
Confirming or Resetting a Hide Effect
After configuring the required parameters:
• Click Hide to apply the selected effect.
• Click Reset to remove the current hide effect configuration and restore the previous settings.
Note → When GPU acceleration is available, the Blur effect can be applied to larger areas, including areas exceeding 250,000 pixels (for example, 500 x 500 pixels).
Hide Effect Examples
Example 1: Mosaic Effect - Full Screen
To apply a full-screen mosaic effect:
1. Select Mosaic from the Hide Effects menu.
2. Select Full Screen.
3. Define the required Mark In and Mark Out positions.
4. Click Hide.
The mosaic effect is applied to the entire video frame during the selected time interval.
The applied effect can be previewed in the Editor section before reaching the on-air output.
Example 2: Mosaic Effect - Partial Screen Square
To apply a square mosaic effect to a specific area:
1. Select Mosaic.
2. Select Partial Screen.
3. Select the Square shape.
4. Set the Mark In position and click on the area to hide.
5. Set the Mark Out position and click on the area to hide.
6. Click Hide.
The selected area is masked using the mosaic effect for the defined duration.
Example 3: Plain Blue Effect - Partial Screen Circle
To apply a circular plain blue mask:
1. Select Plain Blue.
2. Select Partial Screen.
3. Select the Circle shape.
4. Set the Mark In position and define the area to cover.
5. Set the Mark Out position and define the area to cover.
6. Click Hide.
The selected area is covered with a blue mask for the specified duration.
Hide Effects provide operators with flexible tools to quickly protect sensitive content while maintaining full control of the censorship workflow.
