99.3.13 SCTE

SCTE Markers

The SCTE function allows operators to insert SCTE commands into the delayed content workflow and manage advertising or content insertion points directly from the CENSOR EX timeline.

Operators can add SCTE markers to identify specific points where external systems can perform automated actions, such as regional content replacement, advertisement insertion, or other broadcast workflows based on SCTE signaling.

Adding SCTE Commands

CENSOR EX supports the insertion of the following SCTE commands:

• Break Start: Indicates the beginning of an SCTE break.

• Break End: Indicates the end of an SCTE break.

To insert an SCTE command:

1. Position the Editor at the required point on the timeline.

2. Select the desired SCTE command.

3. Apply the command.

The SCTE marker is automatically added to the Timeline, allowing operators to easily identify and review all inserted signaling points.

Timeline Visualization

All SCTE commands are displayed as markers on the timeline.

Operators can use these markers to verify the position of SCTE events and ensure that signaling points are correctly aligned with the delayed content before reaching the on-air output.

The SCTE functionality provides an efficient way to manage external insertion workflows while maintaining full visibility and control within the CENSOR EX editing environment.
